The Passion Play, Church on the Queensway
Several residents attended this year's production of The Passion Play at Church on the Queensway. All were blessed by the beautiful music and story-telling, but even more so, their hearts were touched by learning and understanding more about Jesus. A big thank you to Church on the Queensway for faithfully presenting this story for the last 25 years!
Nowruz Celebrations at The Peoples Church
March 20 was the first day of spring, which is also--very appropriately we might add!--Persian New Year, known as Nowruz. The Peoples Church hosted a Nowruz party with Persian music, food, and traditions. Many of our current and former residents attended and had a fantastic time celebrating with their friends.
Thank you to everyone who made Christmas such a memorable time for our residents. It can be a lonely time for newcomers to Canada and each event helped our residents to feel more at home and taught them about some Canadian Christmas traditions.

Scotiabank Marathon, October 18, 2015
A big thank you to all of our runners who participated in the marathon and raised funds for Adam House. Our top fundraiser was Nadia McRoberts, who raised more than $4000 for our ministry! Congratulations to our top finisher, Abrha (far left) who ran the half-marathon in a time of 1 hour, 17minutes. We would also like to thank all of the donors including many of our former residents.

Thank you to Pastor Scott Rourk and team from Rendezvous Church for blessing our current and former residents with an exceptionally tasty and unforgetable Thanksgiving Dinner. The turkey leftovers were used to bless us again at our Bible Study the following week when Kristen made a delicious homemade soup.
Annual BBQ, August 22, 2015
We had perfect summer weather and a great turn-out. Wellspring Worship Centre BBQed in our backyard, serving 100 alumni, present residents and volunteers. The theme of the event was, We all have gifts and talents. Two success stories from former refugees added to the afternoon, as well as, live accordion music, balloons and games for the children. All in all a wonderful, funfilled event giving people time to connect with new and old friends.
World Refugee Sunday, June 14, 2015
We celebrated with refreshments, listening to stories of refugees to get to know the person behind the word refugee, and a time of prayer and songs. We had a full house as current and former residents, as well as, staff, volunteers and friends gathered together.
Scotiabank Charity Marathon, October 19, 2014
This was our first participation in the Scotiabank Marathon. The team of runners (residents, staff and friends) were encouraged by the support giving to each other as well as by the sponsors. We are ready to go for round two next year, looking for even more runners and sponsors. Thank you to all who participated.
World Refugee Day, June 22, 2014
Thank you to everyone who attended our first World Refugee Sunday event. We were blessed with a beautiful day and many from local churches attended. We enjoyed the fellowship, but most importantly, appreciate the time spent in prayer for the some of the world's most vulnerable.
Niagara Falls, Summer 2014
Each summer Richard volunteers to take Adam House residents to Niagara Falls. This is an amazing opportunity for our residents to see one of Canada's most iconic natural wonders. Also a great opportunity for Richard to pray for and share God's love with those who have gone with him.
Oasis Spring Run, May 24, 2014
Congratulations to staff and residents who participated in the Oasis Dufferin Community Centre Spring Run. Residents Tsegaye and Dibaba came in 1st & 2nd in the men's 8k, and Fantaye placed 1st in the women's 8k. Thank you to Oasis Dufferin for the opportunity. Those who placed won free registration in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Run.

Praise God for the baptism of one of our alumni at The Peoples Church today. He expressed to me that his faith journey started at Adam House. Grateful that God uses us as He draws people to himself. Matthew* is from Iran. Please pray for his spiritual growth.

A big thank you to Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church (Lion’s Head) who funded the renovation of the third floor bathroom—which was much too small and in need of significant repairs! We also appreciate the tireless efforts of the Bethel work team (Adam, Doug, and Mark) as well as one of our residents, Karoly from Hungary.
Celebration of Love, July 13, 2013
On July 13, two of our former residents were married at Adam House. They had met at Adam House a year and a half earlier. It was a momentous day for us—to see two of our extended “family” unite their hearts and lives together. Pastor Arc DaSilva, our board chair, had the privilege of marrying them.

Praise God with us for two residents, former Muslims, who were baptized on Palm Sunday. The baptisms were witnessed by their churches and by Adam House staff and volunteers who attended.
Christmas Events 2012
There are so many fun events for our residents at Christmas time. We are so grateful to all the people and churches who helped make our residents' first Canadian Christmas so memorable and communicated the real reason for the season.

Many thanks to Commonwealth Baptist Church for once again providing the food and service for our annual BBQ. Approximately 100 former residents attended.
A friend of Adam House took several residents down to Niagara Falls this summer. This was a great opportunity for them to get away for the day and see a world famous natural wonder. Many thanks to Richard Ganton and his family for taking the time and making the effort to give our residents a day they won't soon forget.

On Sunday, August 21 a Connection Group from Morningstar Christian Fellowship, hosted the residents of AH for the morning worship service, lunch and games. The residents really enjoyed the service and the afternoon of fun! We would like to thank everyone from Morningstar who welcomed us warmly and made the afternoon a great success!
August 1-6, 2011
From August 1-6 Adam House hosted a work team from Bay Park Baptist Church in Kingston. The church had raised the finances for the complete renovation of the 2nd floor bathroom and to replace the badly damaged laminate flooring through the living room, office, and hallway with tile, plus a few painting projects. The team of 12 worked very hard all week and the result is a beautiful new bathroom and a much more durable and attractive first floor. The team also participated in our Tuesday night Bible Study and hosted a special meal and fun night on Friday. We are so thankful to the church and each member of the team. It has been an encouragement to staff and residents to see these improvements and to see your passion for people from around the globe.

God answers prayer! We asked you to pray that we would receive Canada Summer Job grants and we did! We will be able to hire 2 students for 10 weeks each this summer.

On Easter Sunday, one of our residents delivered a healthy baby boy whom she named Lenny. Lenny joins big sister Chanel and his mom Jenette at Adam House. Praise God for the safe arrival of Lenny!

Praise God! The Adam House Friend Raising Banquet & 10th Anniversary celebrating the Adam Family was a wonderful evening spent with friends, old & new, of Adam House. Approximately 150 people attended the event which was held on April 27 at Willowdale Pentecostal Church. Our guest speaker Rev. John Mahaffey, Lead Pastor, West Highland Baptist in Hamilton, was Salah & Shaline Adam’s pastor and Adam House board chair. He shared from John 12:24-26 and testified that Salah & Shaline followed Christ, even unto death. Through Adam House, and through their testimony, their lives have produced many seeds. We are very grateful to Willowdale Pentecostal for hosting the event and for the delicious meal. We hope to see even more of you next year!
